It is a beautiful day. A day ordained by the Lord. As I was reading the second chapter of Matthew in the Holy Bible this morning, what struck me was how God opened himself up to people of all races. When Jesus was born (and we Catholics believe that God is in three persons: God the Father, God the son, i.e., Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit), the three kings paid Him homage. When I read the interpretation of the passage, the kings referred to seers and priests of a pagan religion. Yes, pagan religion. This is good news!!! God did not want to separate Himself even from the very beginning from the very lowly, the very different, the ostracized, and the marginalized. He is open to all. The Holy Family accepted the gifts: gold, frankincense and myrrh from these people who are truly different from their beliefs. How kind and good God is! How accepting He is! A thought: May we be accepting of ourselves, from our minutest flaw and also be accepting of others, who are different from us because this is how God sees us. Let us pray for each other, and may God, in His infinite wisdom and compassion guide us to Truth and love.
Dear Ninang Sherrilyn,
I read it through..Insightful & Powerful reflections.
What a noble calling to write for the Lord..
Thanks Anna. I had the calling so many years ago and didn’t pay attention. It has haunted me so I need to do it. God is great at giving second chances.
